About Moshe Garapati

Mr. Garapati Moshe was born on 15th April 1961 in a small town in Guntur, India. He was a prodigy with motivation towards higher education and he finished his Masters in Arts, Masters in Education, and Bachelors of Law. A man of knowledge, he started his career as a teacher of Mathematics in a public school and created a path for many of the younger generations. Over 35 years of being an educator across many public schools, he did not just instruct the academics but also molded the ethical and moral values of over 3000 young minds.

Mr. Garapati has a wife and two sons to whom he was devoted to making their lives a happy place by providing them with whatever support they needed for their ambitions. He was very self-disciplined, punctual, and a forward thinker. He always follows his morning routine to go for a walk and also has a strict diet plan and no other bad habits. He was an inspiration for the entire family where he was the go-to person for anyone in the family if they needed advice on their life matters and legal issues.

During the end of 2016, He experienced a lot of health complications with back pain, low blood cell counts, and fatigue. Over time, the symptoms were drastically worsened as he could not walk properly due to back pain, extreme weakness, and some renal dysfunction. Initially, He was incorrectly diagnosed as a patient with Spinal tuberculosis as there was no specialized doctor capable to diagnose this disease in the entire region. None of the medications worked on him. He reached a life-threatening stage of this unknown illness that no one could figure out.

Unfortunately, In 2017, He was diagnosed with a rare incurable cancer called Multiple Myeloma (Cancer of plasma cells or Bone Marrow) at stage 3. During diagnosis, he was completely bedridden and had to get treated for over 2 months as an in-patient at a hospital for all the symptoms and infections he had. After 6 months of treatment and a bone-marrow transplant, he could able to finally walk and have some physical strength to do his own personal needs. He continued to take chemotherapy every day and with weekly high-dose chemotherapy as the disease is progressing towards terminal stages.

After battling cancer for 5 years, Mr. Moshe Garapati passed away on 15th March 2021 with his wife and younger son by his side. He was very fortunate to have his wife supporting all these horrendous years serving him like a mother and a nurse.

Cancer did not stop him from going to school and educating children. Cancer did not stop him from being a loving father and caring husband. Also, It did not stop him from being an inspiration. He fought cancer like a warrior dealing with a ton of infections, hundreds of hospital admissions, and thousands of needle punctures over the span of 5 years. Knowing that there is no cure and with constant suffering from pain, he used to tell his sons and wife to not worry about his situation. He never let his agony stop his sons from achieving their dreams.

Finally, He is free from all the misery and pain. May his soul rest in peace!

Core features

Mission to make a smile

GMM Trust fosters healing by improving the access to health care, especially for the people who cannot afford it. By establishing a relationship with the health institutions and other organizations that were set up in poor or remote regions, we strive to achieve the goals of bringing modern medicine to those in necessity and serving remedies for lost hope.

Our current target location is in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Even though there is a government subsidy provided for healthcare, it can incur additional costs pre and post-admission like blood works and follow-up medications. There are a significant number of people who cannot afford the additional costs and chooses to completely resist going to the hospital and let their condition worsen into a life-threatening situation. Moreover, this government subsidy does not apply to rare medical conditions like a few cancers or other chronic ailments.

This is precisely our mission, to help the people financially and mentally, for those who cannot even afford the additional costs, and also support the people whose illnesses and surgeries are not covered by the government subsidies.

GMM Trust

How We Work

We started the GMM Trust with strong fundamentals and very high motivation to do good. This is the reason that our primary objective is TRANSPARENCY. We have developed a well-sophisticated website that automatically creates and maintains a ledger that is visible to everyone.

Here is what a donor can do on GMM Trust:

  • Each donor will have a personal account with all the histories of donations.
  • In each donor account, one can view how their donations are supporting people with medical illnesses along with a tree diagram showing each recipient's details and the amount allocated to them from the donations given.
  • A donor can donate to a specific patient who is in immediate needs.
  • Also, a donor can request a video call back from the recipient and we will connect you with the patients who got the help from their donations.
  • All the hospital charges that incur for the treatment or surgeries are posted on the website and can be viewed by the donor.
  • Since GMM Trust has every donation received transparent to the public with an automated webpage, will ensure a trustworthy, fraud-free, and efficient organization.
  • A donor can also choose to be anonymous to the public ledger.

Here is what a recipient can do on GMM Trust:

  • Apply for financial assistance by filling out an online application and attaching required medical reports and other documents. This can also be done on paper at the office.
  • Request a fundraiser for a larger financial need to get medical treatments.
  • From a pool of applications, GMM Trust will take the applicant’s illness severity and age into consideration and allocate the funds as per the availability of donations.
  • GMM Trust will only accept the requests from patients who already utilized government subsidies and cannot afford other medical costs.
  • Also, we accept applications from patients whose rare illness is not covered by the government or other policies.
